Pontine Islands

Pontine Islands

Six islands of volcanic origin a short distance from the Lazio coast.

The Pontine Islands are six: Ponza, Palmarola, Ventotene, Santo Stefano, Zannone and Gavi. They are of volcanic origin, cover about 12 square kilometres and their population grows considerably in summer. They fall into two groups: Ponza with Palmarola, Zannone and Gavi, and Ventotene with Santo Stefano.

The sea is the reason to go: relaxing, swimming, diving and snorkelling; lunch can be prepared on board or enjoyed in the restaurants overlooking the harbours. Leaving from Terracina with Dimensione Blu, you choose route and stops with the crew, and you can stay in one cove or move to a quieter one.

To see the islands at a slower pace there are weekends: sleeping at anchor lets you enjoy sunset and dawn away from the crowds of the central hours.

Protected areas and access

Some islands and stretches of sea in the Pontine Islands are protected areas (park, marine protected area). Access rules can change: before departure we confirm the ones in force.
